The Tree of Life Institute (Baum des Lebens Institut - BLI) was founded by us, Thomas Schuh and Wolf Osterheld, in 2016.
Our work is supported by decades of experience working with people and our personal passion for exploring human developmental potential.
Our goal is to develop a psychological model that integrates the spiritual dimension of humanity. Based on this model, we create programs that promote the unfolding of human potential.
We see the central human potential in the heart of a person. By this, we mean the innermost core of the soul, where the potential for the ability to love is inherent. The development of this potential leads to an open and empathetic person who is capable of selfless action.
Regarding our name:
The name “Tree of Life” inspired us because it symbolizes a mature person who has fulfilled their purpose.
Regarding our subtitle:
On one hand, we focus on the “inner development” of a person, meaning the psychological development of personality. On the other hand, we focus on “spiritual development,” which emphasizes religious and spiritual aspects. This is based on the understanding that humans have a soul or spirit and continue to exist after death.
